The Idolm@ster Must Songs Red Album/Blue Album Unlock Guide

DISCLAIMER: The two games share the same save file on the same Playstation Vita system, meaning that the player's personal data progression for the profile is valid and carried over both games. In other words, the user profile's progress (Producer Rank, Idol Rank and Producer Notes goals/Idol Mail achieved) is the same one for both games, together with all the customization elements unlocked from both titles and usable in any of the two games (save for the song-related unlocks, which are linked to their respective game).

Unlockable elements in the two games are mainly achieved through two systems: Idol Mail gifts and item purchases from the games' Shop (accessible through the Live Festival menu).

Shop

The main source of unlockable contents, the games' Shop lets players purchase additional customization items and song-related content by spending the money that can be gained by playing any song in Produce Mode (Must Songs games' regular Play mode).

While many items can be potentially bought from the start, most of the unlockable perks will be available to purchase only if the player has an higher Producer Rank status, which can be upgraded by clearing the games' achievements, listed in the Producer Notes. The marking "PR X" next to the items means that the item in question isn't displayed unless the player's Producer Rank has been risen at least X times.

While most of the items are available to purchase in both games, some elements like the Idol-related customization options and the version-exclusive songs have to be bought only in one of the two games. After the purchase, said customization elements will be available in both games (with the exception of the version-exclusive song-related unlocks). It's also worth mentioning that some items chosen at random may be purchased for half the price (with the exception of the Idolm@ster Cabinet).

Together with the Producer Notes stamps, it's possible to receive some in-game letters from the 765 Production idols by clearing certain tasks. Some of the letters will come with additional customization letters, whose receiving conditions are also listed below.

NOTE: The same Idol Mails can be received in both games. The unlocking progress for each of the letters keeps track of the gaming records in both titles.
